rain soft water system

I just bought my house in the country. i had to hook to city water because VA required it. the house had a rain soft system that is about eight years old. i have pulled it out and want to sell it. does anyone know how much these systems are worth? just a ball park figure. i saw on in the local paper for $900.00
I am redoing my well water to use for watering and washing cars. but i don't think i need the rain soft system. thanks.

It will be difficult to price this because an entire "system" isn't normally sold. Are you sure you want to get rid of it? Or, are you sure you want to sell it before you've used it for awhile? Soft water is considered to be better for plantings than well water. Also, if you're paying for water from the city and you are charged for amount of use, a rainwater system could substantially reduce your water bill during drought conditions. A year or so ago I would have jumped at the opportunity to buy components; I have spent a considerable amount of time and effort installing a rainwater system and am pleased with it. Anyway, you probably have good reasons for wanting to get rid of it, but many homeowners would regard it as an asset.
