Rain At Last

Here in eastern Kansas, where I live there has been no appreciable rain since early June. So far since yesterday afternoon I have received over 5 inches (my gauge only goes to 5). After walking around the acres and viewing the barren parts of the garden, there is no standing water. The earth has just soaked it up up like a sponge. Deo Gratias.

The very outer edges of that dropped a little off over here in Missouri, sure was nice.

I thought that I heard on the radio that Dunklin County got a decent rain since then....Hope so for you all. I just rejuvenated a large part of my place with a Spiker on the Kubota, fertilizer and seed since our big rain soften up the top soil a bit. Now maybe there will be so more rain this week.

I am sincerely happy to hear that the parts of the Country that have suffered drought conditions have finally received rain. Hopefully it's not too late and conditions will improve. Best wishes.

Yes, we finally got some rain, but it split and the majority went north and south of us, it was frustrating to watch the radar. My wife was coming home and called me ten miles out to see if it was OK to come home as she was in a torrential downpour only to find out it wasn't doing anything here. Total rainfall here was about 1 1/2 inches, so I guess I can't complain, but it won't last long or have much impact if there is no follow up.

We received 4.5 inches south of St. Louis over the weekend. The grass, which was almost 100% brown, turned light green almost overnight.

Yeah, that storm cut east just as it was getting close to us in WI. I sure wish we could get some weather soon...:confused3:
