had you placed your finger in the fan belt pulley....much worse, digit off...
fan belts & pulleys are oft overlooked in circumstances such as your (thankfully fortunate) accident. you may consider posting this incident in Safety forum, regards
This was bad but it could have been so much worse! I missed that forum. If a mod wants to move it there that’s cool with me. Thanks.

OP: your incident is appropriate in any of these tractor forums where owners must have their hands on their machines. glad it worked out for you...

am currently reading Hunter Thompson's masterpiece: Hells Angels (1964)
unfortunately many of them had a much more costly (tho honorable) physical relationship with their machines, regards

Jewelry, especially rings, and machinery don't mix. Rings were forbidden where I used to work. A lot of wives were unhappy, but glad in the end that their husbands had all 10 fingers.

In any case, I'm very glad your injury wasn't more serious!

Ouch, glad it wasn't worse. I've been bit by a fan before but not that bad, just hit the tip of my finger and that hurt like a muther.
I have found that an injury like that makes the finger prone to frostbite quicker.
Ditto. Jambed two of my fingers in between two pieces of 3/4 plate that were upright in a plate rack. One had a circle cut out of it and was just balanced enough on edge until I had my hand on the plate next to it. The plate rolled and came down on two of my fingers like a pair of scissors against the stationary plate. My fingers looked like the feet on those tiny green tree frogs with the big pads on their feet they swelled up so bad. Didn't hurt much but it was numb for months, now in the cold it hurts like a SOB.
Hope you heal up ok Fix

Gotta keep working. Having your own business is funny sometimes. I have to pay for workers comp for myself and employees but I can’t make a claim on myself.

After being put back together. Reminded me of stuffing a sleeping bag back in the case.
Looks like a dog that's been on the grill too long. Ouch!

Glad you could still move it. I had an incident a few years ago and I could still move my finger, but it was "over there", not where it was supposed to be. :ROFLMAO:

Done! I left a redirect for anyone that's following the thread.

Hope it heals up fast for you.
The comments about frostbite are true. My finger that got damaged gets colder than the rest now. Other than that, okey dokey. Good luck. (y)
