They were trespassing, it's as simple as that. They had ample warning to leave and if they can't control their dogs, then they shouldn't be hunting there and letting them loose. There is no debating the subject.
There can be alot of debating...permission may have been gotten from every land owner around ... know one bothered to talk to General Lee cause his 8.5 acres is 5 miles north and them dogs won't go there ... oops they did ... the attitude there's no talking keep walking ... well he impressed those hunters allright.
I know Dr's, lawyers, bankers ... as well as the good old country boy hunters that run coon dogs ... you ever tried to control a coon dog on a hot track thats 500 yards ahead of you? Its easy, just whislte and he stops at the posted fence line ... he will not tresspass. I believe most states have laws to allow a coon hunter to retrieve his property off your property with out your permission.
