Well, I haven't asked any dumb questions yet to day, so I'll do it now.
Over the winter, rabbits took up residence under our porch, and I was wondering...
If I hook up a pipe to the exhaust of my JD790 (diesel), and stick the other end into the rabbit hole, do you think it will convince them to move?
I don't really want them to die under the porch, just find a new home. (Them, not me /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)

Mike I think gassing them under your nose might not be the most beneficial thing to do. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I would opt for some of the repellents that are sold at most garden centers to shoo the little critters away.

Carbon monoxide will kill any living thing which needs oxygen to survive.

You'll have to plug the access area to have them shoo.....

Diesel engines emit almost zero carbon monoxide, so don't bother trying to asphyxiate them with any diesel engine, unless you want to see all black bunnies running around.

If you want loads of poisonous carbon monoxide, you must use a gasoline engine, but be extremely careful, carbon monoxide is extremely poisonious to your hemoglobin and it does not discriminate between rabbit or human red blood cells.

At least it's not a bear! I've heard those rabbits can be kinda viscous! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree about the lack of CO from a diesel, that's why I was thinking of using it. I don't want them dead under the porch, just out from under it.
From the comments, I better find a different solution.

Black bunnies, hmmm. That would make them easier for the dog to spot in the field. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I remember saving a rabbit from a cat when we were kids.. we kept him a week while he healed. So came the day we were going to let him go.. I was carrying the rabbit & my big lab/german sheppard cross(BlackJack) was w/ us. The rabbit jumped from my arms.. my dog caught it in midair.. chomp.. chomp.. chomp.. 3 chomps & he swallowed it. I think we just stood there dumbfounded.
