r4 tires

/ r4 tires #4
I talked to a dealer in TX about a set of (4) R4 tires and rims for my 254 Jinma which I believe is the same as 284 and he said that it requires a set
of adapters for the front wheels so the tires won't rub against the tractor during tight turning. He said he was sold out and didn't know if he would be getting any more. If this is the case how much $$$ are the adapters? Will the
R4 set of tires fit on the narrow stock AG rims?

Any competent machine shop can fabricate wheel spacers. And no; if you want the same overall height, you won't get R4s on R1 rims

greg_g,

I thought Massey Ferguson and John Deere compacts were now built in China.

Don't know what that's got to do with R4s on R1 rims, and I don't have a clue about MF. But my own John Deere was made down in Georgia earlier this year. The Yanmar engine came from Japan, but it was ultimately mated with the rest of the tractor at the Augusta (GA) plant.

That said, John Deere does have one or more manufacturing plants in China. But their output is for sale to the Asian market.
