Others have tried this too. Bought the groover new off eBay for $80. Easy to do on a warm day. Just deciding on what grooves and sipes to best improve traction and not damage the tires only issue. Have not had any tear out after grooving. Started with the fronts to better monitor effects.
Agree the TLB loaders are much better at heavy loader work. That’s why I switched from ag tractors to TLBs.

Any thoughts on how those groove patterns are working for you, Smokeydog? I took delivery of an M62 a while back, and on steep terrain, I'm getting some wheel spin I could do without...

On the B26 grooving the front has helped. It replaced a B20 after 23 years that has a primary job was mowing steep terrain. Also tested on snow covered steep driveway with improved results. Good results.

The M59 had worn front tires when I bought it. Grooving helped grip with heavy loader work both with trees and dirt. Replaced tires with extra deep tread. Carlisle Ultra Guard Industrial Tire -10-16.5 Amazon.com: Carlisle Ultra Guard Industrial Tire -1-16.5: Automotive
These have been improvement for loader work and pasture mowing. Haven’t grooved them or the rears on either tractor yet. Need to decide on best pattern.

The old grooved M59 tires went to work on neighbors farm older skidsteer and he likes them. Now see some new farm service R4 tires with similar grooves.

I’ll update when I’m feeling groovy with the other tires.

I wouldn’t recommend ags on the front. These machines lift a lot and I have my doubts about the r1s holding up. Even if they do the narrower tire is going to sink worse. IMG_8082.JPGIMG_7659.JPG
