I just traded trucks and it has duals with glasspacks on it. Just too loud when towing. I don't mind to hear it but so much. What do you guys have that sounds pretty good. I am leaning toward Dynomax super turbo.

Gas or diesel? I put a 4" MBRP system on my Dodge. It is just on that edge of not too loud.
Works great though.

Sorry, it's a gasser. I did not know anybody used glasspacks on a diesel.

24" peace of straight pipe is what most of my stuff gets. If you want it to sound good go with larger pipes and flow max high flow mufflers

Most turbo mufflers have a simular sound but at a reduced volume. Glass packs on a tow rig would be a cop calling stereo system around here. :D There is no way to be quiet except coast. A cross over pipe between the two sides helps quiet things too.

Three chamber Flow Masters are "fairly" quiet. On my diesel I have a 3 1/2" pipe from the turbo out the back. No muffler, no resonator, no kitty. Can be kinda loud at times. The turbo sure sounds good though. :D

I HATE the sound of glass packs. I was at an autoparts store once and heard a couple of younger guys talking about how if you put more bends in the exhaust system with glass packs, the more "cackle" you get out of the exhaust. For me the turbos are a great sounding muffler. I would love to swap out the exhaust of my Dodge truck and my wifes 300C, but it's stainless and last forever, so I hate to mess with it. Some factory exhaust isn't to bad for performance, but you can do better.

I dunno... Standing at the pump panel on our stations water tender can be kinda loud :D The 8v92 Detroit while pumping is a loud loud motor :D

I have had both flowmaster and dynomax on my old car, and I preferred dynomax. Flowmaster was still too loud for my taste. Dynomax had a nice tone, but wasn't overbearing.

I will probably go with the Dynomax, I have one on my Wrangler and like it a lot but the offset design will be a bit of a challenge to install. I have been looking at some muffler inserts at Summit racing that you just slide into your extension tip and fasten it in place. They may be all I need for my situation.
