Quickcrete acid etching stain?

Unless you mean pics with me working, the floors were dry. I believe my cost was approx $2500, but I'd have to research a better figure. I believe we used about 10 gallons acid stain, 15 gallons solvent based sealer, and about 4.5 gallons floor polish (liquid wax). The finish is quite smooth and shiny. Here in Hawaii, the tendency is to go barefoot, have had many comments on how "soft" they feel.

I know nothing of the Quikcrete product, but
In planning our new house we decided on acid stained concrete floors.
There are internet sites available with info, I bought DVD instructions.
We decided to go with the Brickform acid stain , Blush-tone - Brickform

We waited 28 days for the concrete to cure, then my wife and I applied it. Not that difficult, just that we did about 3200 sf. We did this before doing any other work on the house. After the acid staining, then we built the house. That meant the floors were exposed to sun, wind, and plenty rain along with all the wear and tear of the construction process. After the painting (interior) was completed, we cleaned and sealed the floors. We used the Brickform sealer, a solvent based acrylic - 2 coats. I then applied 5 coats of commercial floor polish.

That was last Aug. Haven't really done much of anything since except sweep/dust mop/vacuum from time to time and wipe up a spot now and then. The house still isn't finished (almost) so it has suffered more construction wear as well as living in it. We've had a bunch of folks tour the house past 2 weeks and we get enthusiastic comments on how the floors turned out. We are very pleased with them.

I posted earlier, wanted to amend my post, but it's too late to edit. I have acid stain on my garage floor (as mentioned before).

It looks awesome, but yesterday I saw something that really made me sick. I have been bleaching my house to prepare for staining. I went through about 50 gallons of bleach in doing so. Anyhow, I had a leaking 1.42 gallon bleach jug in the garage...slow leak, but still a leak. Yesterday, I picked up the leaking jug (didn't know it leaked until I picked it up) and there was a solid white ring on the garage floor. That jug has been sitting there for over 2 weeks, seeping out onto the floor.

My POINT of this story...keep bleach away from your acid stained/etched floors out there! I'm not saying pouring a little bleach on the floor for cleaning isn't ok...I'm sure it won't hurt it if removed right away. However, be wary of leaving a bleach jug laying around on the floor

Thanks, I'll be on guard. Alcohol isn't good either. My puppy chewed a bottle of rubbing alcohol, made a big white splotch when it evaporated - but its in the polish, didn't ruin the floor.

Tororider,

We have the basement walls and floor poured. Should be starting on the steel floor joist soon. We are in the process of selling our home so we can build our new one. I'm a bit nervous to "bank" it in these times of troubled house market. I hope we sell soon, because we are approching the building season!
