Loader quick plate for a TC-40

Thanks for everyone's help!!! I just called Kahnn Tractor in Conn. and it was not in stock. The price was a bit on the high side at 700.00 and that was only the tractor side..... The bucket side was separate...... Leaving tonight on vacation so I will make the trip from RI there when I get back.

Thanks again!! You guys are a BIG help!!

Randy

That $700 does sound on the high side, but I've been spoiled by buying several years ago. Not to make you feel bad, but my tractor-side QA adapter was around $378 when NH first started putting them on our class of tractors. When I bought my tractor in 2001, you could not buy the SSQA attachment. I believe it became available in 2003 and I bought my adapter in 2004. Of course the full remote kits were less than $250 each. My-oh-my, how things have changed.

Mine was cheap as it was in stock, someone ordered it and never picked it up. I might shop arround as you will have to pay shipping regardless.

I just converted my TC40D to QA in Dec. 2011. List price for the QA from my NH dealer was $611.85. They suggested that if I could wait for their stock order delivery I would not need to pay freight. They would also take off 10%.
It cost me $550.66 plus tax. The plate that is welded to the bucket cost me $133.10 delivered.
It's a good investment. I have three buckets, forks and a three point converter that I use on the loader to attach my carryall, and use it as a man lift.
There are some good posts on this forum about converting the bucket to QA.

Well as you all know I am looking to install a quick hitch on my new tractor. I just attended the trade show in Boston NewEngland Grows. I spoke with a representitive from a Chappel Tractor( a NH dealer) He informed me that there was different grades of this hitch. He said that this hitch (both male and female side) should cost me around $1100.00.

The part number that you guys gave me was $611.00.... Is this true??? :confused2:He said that this one will fail as it is a light duty.

I am VERY confused, I am thinking that he is trying to sell me somthing that I dont need!!!

Thanks for everyone's help!!

If you have the time and want to watch me struggle a bit, here is my pin on bucket conversion. My adapter (kubota) as $400 delivered and the dealer helped me put in on. I did the bucket conversion over a period of time working on it at night after work and a weekend or 2.. It turned out good, and I use it more than the new bucket I purchased from the dealer when I purchased the adapter. You will love having SSQA. All compact tractors should have it in my opinion.

Just bought a TC-40 and was wondering if anyone had any input for me on getting a quick plate for the loader. I would like to be able to get a set of forks for the tractor.
Would I need to get a new bucket or can I have the old one fit to the plate?

Is it worth it at all??

Randy

See if you have a Horst welding dealer in your area, may be cheaper than OEM.

I looked up the part number on NH parts page. They only list one QA kit for a 16LA loader. Nothing about light or heavy duty. The part number given to you by our member is correct, as far as I can tell.
I would guess that they may have been refering to the plate that you need to weld on the bucket. They come in different styles and weights. As I stated earler I paid $133.10 for my plate (1/4 in. thick). I don't think that you could ever damage it with a 16LA loader. You can get heaver plates 3/8 thick if you want, and still not reach the $1100 total cost they quoted you.
I may be missing something, but I can't find anything that supports what you were told.:confused2:

I took another look at the parts listing and found this:

Part Description Mount
Part Number 86605906
Price $799.85

Maybe this is a heavy duty unit???:ashamed:

I checked the part number on my QA (the sticker is still on it) It reads #716653056.
I don't think you would ever have problems with this unit. It appears to be plenty strong for the capacity of the loader.

You could call your Dealer Parts Dept and ask about
Part Number 86605906 and see what he says.

I had my NH dealer put on the tractor side piece and also install the other peice on my bucket and it was around 900 for everything. I thought it was high but maybe not. Either way, it is the way to go for easy interchange of front implements.
