Does anyone know of a supplier offering couplers with the male o-ring "built-in" to avoid an adapter fitting? I'm doing a remote setup for TnT and would like to screw the female couplers directly into the DCV ports. If not that, I can go with adapters but even then would like to avoid NPT and stay with o-ring fittings totally. Thanks

These guys have ORB QDs. Never seen what you're looking for, for sale before. :(

The link doesn't want to come up for me but I see that some of the quick couplers do have the female ORB QD's. No big deal to use adapters. I see that the A and B ports on the Prince MB3 valve are too close together for direct mounting so I'll need to use fittings anyway to stagger the height of the female couplers. Just trying to save some hosing but may be better to just go with bulkhead mounts for the QD's. I am surprised to not see anyone on TBN using any of these ready made mountings: SafeWay Hydraulics - Accessories

I recently changed my 2-spool valve with a 3-spool Prince 8 GPM valve. Unlike the previous one, the Prince valve has SAE-8 ports, which they are too close to fit 1/2" QCs. So what I ended up doing is installing SAE/NPT adapter and NPT 3/8" QC. Actually even the 3/8" QC are just a smidgen too tight. They fit but you can't slide the sleeves. So I ground about a 1/16" or so the largest OD spots of the sleeves, just 1/2" opposite from each other. This is enough to be able to side the sleeves. The 3/8" QCs give me adequate flow for my 8 GPM valve.
Maybe there are better solutions but this one worked fine for me. If you have a larger flow requirement, then all bets are off.

NCMau,
Thanks for posting this info and sharing your method of making the 3/8" QD's work. I'm using the same valve (Prince 8 gpm) and like your setup because it is compact and eliminates the extra set of hoses going to the QD's. Will plan to use the valve handles in the same position as yours relative to the valve body but rotate the spool actuators 180 degrees. The handle will then be horizontal and facing to the front with the QD's facing the rear. Just looks like it would work better on my Kubota B9200.

Edit: Should mention that the directional valve will be mounted to the right of the seat.

Referring to Ken's post just above:
O-Ring Boss (ORB) Adjustable Union
This adapter would then let the quick coupler "plug" into the valve provided the ports are far enough apart to let a pair of QD's not interfere with each other.
In my case, I'm wanting to use 3/8" QD's which don't look to be offered with SAE O-RING threads. I may have to try making some adapter close nipples which would convert 3/4"-16 SAE male to 3/8" NPT male. The O-RING would seal directly against the end of the QD body. May have to polish the ends of the QD's to get a good seal. Would be a good lathe threading exercise making the adapters.

I just did a long look for -8 orb by QD , No luck at all (The MVR reference is for -6 by QD)

Ended up ordering swivels and hex nipples in pipe thread QD's. I don't really like the way it all goes together. The entire affair looks to extended to hold up the rough handling, hard knocks and vibration. Stewing on it now...... Might just rethink the layout .

Application is just like the loader control pictured above, but with the DCV tilted down in front to better make the hose runs forward. Extended 90's really look fragile and cause me worry. (after paying the premium and waiting 3 weeks for them to come in)

As mentioned, I'm stewing on it now.

cheers

Sorry, I didn't realize that you were trying to go from #8 ORB to 3/8 female QD. All I saw was 3/8 ORB QD. There are some things that they just don't have transition pieces available. :(
