This weekend, I went to visit my friend that just bought a new BX25D. Me I have since 1977 a B6000 with a back hoe and a front end loader. My friend made me try is new tractor. I was very surprised and disappointed to find that the front loader lift very slowly, and to have a good hydraulic flow for the back hoe to work at a normal speed , the engine must run at near full rpm, the outriggers also are very slow to move. Also what is the normal idle speed for this small diesel engine? Can the hydraulic flow be adjusted to give more flow to the front loader and to the back hoe? Why revving the engine so much when you only need about 10 hp to operate such a small hydraulic hoe? I was expecting much more from a modern tractor compare to my old B6000! I felt bad because he had asked me my advice and since my Kubota was ok ,I tough that this would be a good tractor to buy...or maybe all those mini tractors are not build to do work...Ronald from Quebec....forgive my english...

Sometimes the relief is found to be on the low side of spec... mine was 10% lower than spec. and shimming made a noticeable difference.

These small Tier 4 engines do tend to run at higher RPM... remember, your B6000 was built at a time before all the strict regs went into effect... guess almost 40 years difference in technology.

I also find the slower speed is good for those learning... you can always increase RPM as the operator becomes proficient.

Another plus... at least I see it as a plus are the numerous safety features that have been incorporated into the design...

Comparing a BX25 with a B6000 is comparing apples to oranges. Each size has its pros and cons. I had no other experience to compare my BX to so I was pleased with all that I really can do, albeit, slower. 100' of 12" wide 2' deep trench in 1 hour is fine with me. My BX does all I need as fast as I need so that is satisfaction.

The BX appears to only have a single hydraulic pump, this requires a priority flow valve to run the power steering so you don't lose ps at low rpm.
This will require higher rpm to create enough flow to overcome the priority setting and provide the implements with adequate flow for operation.

Nothing wrong with the system, the engines are designed to run at the higher rpm and most are actually more efficient there.

Seems people coming from a larger, lower speed diesels have the hardest time adjusting to diesels that run higher rpm. When designed for it, the higher engine speed is actually easier on the internals then lugging them.
