Did any of you order the upgraded PTO shaft or stay with the standard one? Is the standard one decent enough?

Just ordered a Woodmaxx chipper but didn't choose the upgraded shaft. The chippers are still being built so I think I have some time to change to the upgraded one if the standard one isn't very good.

Thanks.

I have the standard one and can't say I have given it any thought. Works great and it really easy to replace the sheer pin if needed.

Me too -- standard one has performed fine through lots of use.

Thank you both for the info. Just what I needed to know.

I have the upgraded one mostly because I wanted to support the made in the US product. Works great. I doubt you can go wrong with either though maybe after 10,000 hours I will laugh at the people who didn't upgrade because theirs is worn out and mine is only at half of its life.

Have the standard woodmax with the mechanical feed. Have had no problems with the shaft or anything else. Very pleased.

Standard has been working well for me also, from hook up to chipping to unhooking.
