After 2+ months of waiting it finally arrived. Factory 3rd function kit is so well done on the loader...really pleased with it.

Upgraded vinyl seat vs the standard cloth.

Came with a Kenwood radio installed...is that normal? Now for the questions:

1. How do we change the speedometer to MHP instead of KM/H?
2. Manual says in 1 place to never idle more than 2 minutes after starting, in another it says to let it warm for 30 minutes in cold weather. Which is right?
3. Came with 7 hours on the odometer...is that normal?
3.5 Where might the plug be for the block heater?

4. Anything else we should know about it?

Really excited...it is so smooth compared to the Century C47 we traded in on it.

Thanks everyone!

Mine had a couple of hours on it. If it was on a lot and used for test drives, 7 hours is not a ton. Mine already was changed to mph, so no help there. Also never even considered a block heater. We don't get your kind of cold down here. Definitely warm it up in cold weather. Since I got the turbo, I'm supposed to let it warm up and cool down a wee bit. Not sure why it says only 2 minutes at idle unless it is an emissions thing. Low revs don't get it hot enough to burn off carbon. Too much build up could be a problem.

Congrats! Enjoy your new tool, uh toy, no, tool.

Congrats on the new tractor.

Here is the procedure to change from C to F. It may change from Km/h to mph too.

Change temp from C to F or the opposite.
1-Turn ignition on, wait a few seconds.
2-Depress then release Info button so dash reveals voltage & temperature.
3-Turn headlights on bright.
4-Depress & continue holding Info button approximately 15 seconds or until temp changes from Celius to Farenheit or vice versa.
5-Done.

Congratulations on the new tractor! Hope you have many years of trouble free service.

I always thought some of these procedures to change something simple like Celsius to Fahrenheit are silly.

It’s like, turn you left blinker on for 3 flashes then turn your right blinker on for 3 flashes. Turn you emergency flashers on and get out of the cab, then do the hokey pokey and turn yourself about, that’s what it’s all about…. :ROFLMAO:

I gave up trying to change the Subaru from kpa (or whatever) to psi. Had it fixed once, but it got reset and cannot remember the secret code.

For me, I don't really notice or care the 'speed' of my tractor. Rarely have it out of low gear. Only used high briefly to make sure it worked. I guess if you are planting or using chemicals that need to sync to a specific speed. Most of those I have seen show both mph and kph.

Congrats on the new tractor. Are you sure your block heater is installed? They are usually (that I have seen/heard) dealer installed items. It's a regional thing. My dealer installed them in each tractor he brought in to his dealership on his own. Where are you located? You may not need one. Idling the tractor excessively will increase your need for regens. Before I added oil pan (and especially) trans sump heating pads to my tractor, I would have to idle it for 20-30 min each time I started it in winter. Once I had the additional heaters, I only need to plug it all in (mine's on a timer in winter) for about an hour or so in advance of using it. Having it on a timer, that keeps it "on" for a several hour window each morning, means I can pretty much go out and start it any day I want (I would "know" when I got up that day if I was going to need to move snow). Also, switching to synthetic oils will make a huge improvement in *actual* cold weather work. By *actual* cold, it gets to -45F here in winter. That's no fake "windchill" B.S. either, but actual ambient air temps. Tractors don't give a singe shizznitt about "windchill".

If you have a block heater, there will usually be a short pigtail of maybe 12" from the block.
Congrats on the new machine... Pictures are in order!

Thanks guys!!!! That procedure worked...not only for the MPH...but for the temp readings as well (much more important in my mind) Found the dealer installed block heater all good there. Just have to drop a trickle charge cable on the batt. Gets really cold up here.

There are a number of QC things that are apparent...obviously they are slapping these together on an assembly line with cheap labor. Overall everything is lighter metal and cheaper plastic than the 2005 century C47 we traded in. In fact, we kept the old bucket from the century because it is built so much heavier.

The light fixtures front and rear on the cab are not straight...a few minutes with a wrench to loosen, then straighten will fix that. The headlight/blinker module in the dash is loose (found this when I went to do the procedure to change from C to F.) That will be a bit harder, because you have to get on the backside of it somehow.

But the comfort of hydro, power steering and climate control for our purposes is worth it all. The main task will be the berco snowblower that comes next month so we can dig out of the winter snows.

We will be installing an "add a grapple" in the next couple weeks to allow the removal of brush from a storm that destroyed the tree grove last year. More to come as we start to work with it.

Honestly, this is the first and only new vehicle my 81 year old father has ever had in his life. To see how happy he is really makes it worth it.

Thanks for the encouragement and help!

My TYM dealer said they did not come with block heaters. They installed one for me, pre sale, for free. It is on the left side of the motor, same motor as your tractor. The pigtail is removable, so it's not always attached to the tractor. I keep mine on the shelf in the barn. Probably won't need it, but for free, why not.
My pole barn doesn't get much below 40F in the winter... But if I can warm her up a little before we go play, why not.
My unit arrived with 2 hours on it. With 7, I'd sorta expect a regen earlier than your normally expect, because those 7 probably weren't under load.
