I'm looking at buying a 1998 b2400 with 1900 hours. It has a 60" belly mower and bagger system. Runs and drives and mower works. It's got hudrostat and 4x4 and rear pto. However it does not have a loder valve or loader and that is what I really want is a fel tractor. They want 3800 for the unit and I'm wondering how much more I would be looking at putting into it for the fel setup. Or is it gonna be too much of a pain to try and find a fel and valve for it to be worth the trouble?
Thanks for the help I appreciate the input!

Will a Three Point Hitch mounted Dirt/Pond scoop suffice for your needs?

$3,800 to get in the tractor fraternity is pretty cheap.

A new quality FEL for it is going to cost somewhere close to $3500.

How hard will it be to find the loader and get it setup on there? If t doesn't already have the loader valve what will need to be done in order to plumb that in? Thanks for the help, I'm pretty green as far as all this goes

I would tend to say that putting a loader on that tractor isn't reasonable. Finding one will be very difficult and if you do, it will all be very expensive.
I'd suggest perhaps this tractor may be a "starter tractor". Get it, use it, learn on it. Then sell it to help pay for the dream tractor. You can do *a lot* of things without a loader. Between scoops (previously mentioned), carry-alls, trailers, blades, and more.

I will let someone else help you with specifics. I am not too far off green myself. Like you, when I was looking, a FEL was one of my wants. I almost bought the same tractor I have without a FEL. I am glad another one came along that already had a factory FEL on it before I bought the one without a FEL. Typically you will get a better deal buying a tractor that already has a FEL. If you get a sweet deal on a tractor without a FEL then it might be worthwhile to add the FEL.

Call some Kubota dealers and check price and availability of loaders. May get lucky and find a used one, or at least what loaders might fit. Looks like LA 302 was standard. If that is the only one that fits it may be harder to find. If you can't find one and really want a loader tractor may need to keep looking. Sounds like a good price on tractor to start with.

Why not spend a little time and check out after market loader kits? Most, if not all, will come with the control valves and necessary parts. My B8200 had a Bush Hog loader installed, and it worked just fine, thank you. There are easily three or four companies offering loaders, surely some will be intended for the B2400? I doubt if you will be saving much money, if your time is worth anything to you, but if you want the mower deck and a "project", maybe it would be worth while. I doubt if you could find a used loader for that tractor, and with 1900 hours, it ain't new.

I would be sure to find the cost of everything you will need to install the loader and make sure everything is readily available weather its from the Kubota dealership or aftermarket before you commit to the purchase. Planning for a used loader usually ends in frustration. So I personally wouldn't plan on that unless I already had a line on one that would fit before hand.
