We recently purchased what we believe to be an old kewanee disc. Question is is the jack crank in back used to adjust depth or is it used manually raise disc for towing if hydraulics are not available

The "crank" is used for both depth control and transport. Using it for transport allows one to road the disk with something other than a tractor. By the way, the cylinder on the disk should only be one way - in other words it only lifts.

Have never seen a crank on a disk to raise it but looking at it carefully sure looks like you are correct. Just wondering, how do you adjust the angle of the blades?

On those you don’t adjust the blade angle.

On those you don’t adjust the blade angle.

It is a brand a design have not seen before. It is amazing years back and to some degree still true on that size equipment how local the product or even the brand was. Get into the several thousand of dollars price and computers and such items becomes less and less local companies product.
