We were holding out too, but went ahead and ordered so we'd get delivery (hopefully) before the $1500 rebate went away. Well, we ordered on October 15, and it came in on November 15, much sooner than anyone expected. The good in that is that Ford had a price increase right after we ordered so we beat that. The bad is that the stories started circulating about the possible continuation for a couple of years right after we ordered. Oh well, its here, its paid for and I love it. If they go another 2 years, I may have to have an '06. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
From what I've seen, the 6.0 issues have mostly been taken care of. At least I hope so! Along that line though, my '99 SD was the first one the dealer ordered in after the change to the SD style (I ordered in January of '98). I had some reservations about it, but I just loved the look so pulled the trigger. Its never been in the shop for anything, and believe me, I've never babied it. No wonder I buy Fords!
