QUESTION: ck20s-HST... Finish mower, what size is appropriate?

... Can it handle a 72" or do I need to stick with a 60" ? Do you guys mow in high or low?

I've never pulled a finish mower before, as I've been using my 72 front mower... however, that is in the shop, and may need more attention than I'm willing to spend. Used finish mowers are running at about 500 to 800 in my area, so I'm thinking that can get me through until I buy a newer front mower or ZTR.

It's already going to take much longer using a tractor verses my front mower, so I don't want to make it any slower by using a 60 versus a 72, unless I can't pull the 72 with this tractor...

Thoughts? Thanks in advance...

I don't think I would go bigger than the 60", that being said, when you shop for a mower it will list in the specs what HP is required. Your CK20 should be 21 horse.

I use a 60" would not go any bigger. The weight of the mower will swing the back of the tractor around on hilly ground. Filled the back tires and that helped alot.

I have no CK20 (or CK anything) experience but you generally want a 3 point hitch finish mower to be st least slightly wider than the back wheels.

Agree. I used a 60" RFM with my CK20 and it was a good match. If you cut weekly and are in a completely flat area I would imagine a 72" RFM would be acceptable but 60" is ideal.
