I was changing motor oil for the first time on my Kama TS354C with 10 hrs so I thought I would check the injector pump oil also. I noticed that mine has a dip stick instead of a screw to remove for the oil level like some of the Jinmas. When i removed the dip stick oil gushed out of the dip stick hole. This thing was way over filled. Next I removed a screw from the very bottom to drain the excess. I drained about a pint and it is still all the way up on the stick, but the oil draining out has slowed considerably. I guess my question is how much does this hold, am I draining the oil from the correct spot, and could anything have been harmed by the overfill?

Some diesel will get into the oil on the inj pump, but with only 10 hours it was probably overfilled at the factory and not checked by the person who assembled it. I doubt it would hurt anything, but it may run better with the correct abount of oil.

Thanks Chip, I have heard it holds about 1 pint, is that correct? Also do you remove the vent on top to add the oil?

To be honest, I'm not up to speed on the capacity but that sounds right (I have Mike to do the shop stuff for me now /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif you do fill through the vented cap.
