I have a B7500 with a 302 FEL and sooner or later I will probally want to remove the loader. My question is that when I disconnect the hydrolic lines will they leak or not? Is their pressure in the lines ? Or is it like taking the end off a air hose. Nothing.

First and formost TURN OFF ENGINE With than said, only a small amount will leak out. If more, then a ball is stuck/missing in the connector. If you got the rubber caps, keep them and connectors clean and free of dirt.

first of all turn off the engine. then cycle the joystick to relive the pressure, then disconnect. should not lose much and put the caps on both sides of the fittings to keep them clean.

If you take the FEL off that would mean you would actually have to get off the tractor to pick something up! I have had my B7500 going on a month and I asked the same question you did on the forum however I asked the dealer to walk me through the steps. He did and bet me a Coke that I would never remove the loader after I used it for a while. Well I guess I owe him a coke because I can't think of one decent reason to remove it. Oh I have thought about it a couple of times but shortly after the thought, I used the FEL for some odd ball purpose and realized he was right. If I had taken the loader off I would been cornered into doing manual labor and that goes against owning a FEL. I have even learned how to open the dumpster lids with it and not get off the tractor. Keep in mind the lids do not hang over the edge! I guess it has made me Kubota lazy!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If I ever have to reroof my house I am going to have to build a ramp the drive the tractor up on the house to scrape shingles. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That is what Kubota made the BX series for!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I used to take mine off once in a while just so I remember how to do it... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I used to have a RFM I took my loader off when mowing...now I have another tractor for mowing so I really don't have a need to take the loader off the bigger one. Guess I've done it enough in the past not forget how...

Guess I'm with you NewTexan, now that I'm not using the tractor for mowing...it IS hard to think of a reason to take the loader off! Except for practice when new at it.

"Well I guess I owe him a coke because I can't think of one decent reason to remove it."

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif First off, removing the loader is so simple and easy and quick I can put them on and off in a total of less than 5 minutes. Secondly, there was a thread on this and there are many reasons to remove a loader. Some are, the extra weight of the loader compacts the soil in your lawn, the loader greatly reduces the manuverability of the tractor. It is diffucult to mow grass with the loader installed and it's extra weight up fron causes the wheels to dig in on turns. The ride with the loader attached is much rougher and bouncier. Wear and tear on the loader is reduced because it is not along for a ride bouncing away and tire wear is reduced as well. Damage to your house, car, people, pets, trees , fences from whacking them with the loader is reduced as is damage to the loader and tractor from such impacts. I could go own for several more paragraphs--why ride around with the loader if your not going to use it and it is so easy to R&R-- why suffer? I sometimes remove and install my loader or even my mower deck several times in a day.
Example, I was going to aerate and spread fertilizer with my Herd spreader and some seeds as well. First I removed the loader and mowed the grass. I then reinstalled the loader to remove the MMM and to move my gravel I bought for the driveway and had the boxblade attached as well to spread it. I then removed the loader and the boxblade and installed the aerator and aerated the lawn areas. I then removed the aerator and installed the harrow and drug it about and then removed the harrow and installed the Herd spreader and spread seed and fertilizer. I then reinstalled the loader, lifted the tractor to reinstall the MMM and then put the unit away. That was just one day. J

Mowing sure is a lot easier with the FEL removed.

As stated removal and replacement surely don't take much time and is well worth the effort. Just remember to mark the hoze's so you replace them properly.

I take my FEL off everytime I mow. Makes it much easier to mow around shrubs, fences and buildings. Plus... my property is on a hillside and with the FEL off the tractor is much more stable. As soon as I am finished mowing, the FEL goes right back on. Next to my mower, it is the most used implement that I own.

It is very easy to take on and off (5 min.).

Well, I'm like some of the other guys, and bet you will be, too, eventually, and that is to take the FEL off and and put it back on frequently. I left mine off when using mowers, tiller, and plows because it was better visibility, smoother ride, and I could maneuver in tighter places. Since my tractor and implements stayed inside on a smooth concrete floor, I tried timing it and found, in no hurry at all, I could take it off or put it on in 3 minutes or less. So the extra 3 minutes when I was going to mow 2 to 6 hours was nothing and the increased comfort was well worth it.

Of course when I had the B7100, its FEL was not a quick attach and was never taken off, and I would never want a tractor again without the quick attach loader.
