Congrats! Have yet to hear about serious problems with any of the LS models so I'm guessing you'll be pretty happy with your decision. I really doubt there's a better deal than LS out there right now.

looks like a sweet tractor houston. Give us updates, I am in the market and have to get one sooner than later and LS is on my list as a strong candidate.

One other question for you LS folks that own these. I have a dealer about 20 miles away, but in no way is it a service center. Just looks like an outlet to sell these. Where do you guys get these worked on if you require repair, warranty service, etc. if you don't have an LS dealer that does this close by? How hard is it to get parts for these, again, if you don't have a dealer close that has a parts department?

Welcome to the LS forum.
Seems strange that LS would have a dealership that doesn't offer parts and service. Did you actually stop in and talk to those people? My dealership's service center is around the corner from the lot, but it's there. Without a parts and service center, I would doubt the guy is an "authorized" dealer.
Anyway, LS machines rarely need warranty service, but if mine did, I'd call my dealer (and drink Dos Equis.)

We stopped by. It was a "dealer" located in Savannah Tenn., and it was just a small shop with a few models outside. The owner/dealer was not there, just a girl at the desk. She said he would be back later, he was out doing some business. I saw no other buildings around, and definitely no work shop or repair shop. They had some other things in the shop that he sold (forget exactly what they were, but I think it was for making large printed signs, like a big printer) not tractor related. Just made you kind of scratch your head on exactly what he was trying to sell. I found the place on the LS dealer locator site, so that would seem to indicate it was an authorized dealer?

Weird -- can't say I'd feel very comfortable buying a tractor from that place without a LOT more investigating. Maybe he has just left another dealership and is starting his own. Guess I'd try to get some face time with the guy to determine what he knows about tractors and how he would handle any warranty issues. So far I've only heard good things about LS taking care of warranty stuff. Unfortunately, I really don't know anything about how the tractor manufacturer/dealership system works. PLUS, it might be different depending on the brand. Good luck finding the right tractor and dealer.

RCO seems like a good place been in business for 30 years so I am not to worried. In this day of computers and overnight shipping I never worry about parts for anything anymore. The deal on the U5030 is $28.5K for tractor with loader and a 72" heavy mower, and heavy duty box plow. I have added a suntop not sure whats that's going to cost. Plus I have asked for AG tires and that is not suppose to be a big deal but we'll find out when we sign papers. This is a cash deal. I researched the engine (I'm a gear head) and found its a very common Mitsubishi commercial engine. The fit and finish looked very nice, I own BMW's and MB for cars so I know what I'm looking for in quality. German car guy. There are a few reasons I took a chance on LS. The factory is in S. Korea, been there its very modern. New factories built for a product will out perform any equipment made in old outdated factories. The Korean's make good stuff, so I'am good with that. The factors I compared were engine, while this is not a common rail high pressure diesel it is a proven design and its in all kinds of equipment and vehicles all over the world. This engine is 3.3L, you will find the engines in comparable tractors is well under 3L and turbo'ed to produce the same HP. An old American saying you can't discount cubic inches. In this case I agree I want the 3.3L's and normally aspirated. The competition is at 2.6L's. The tractor weighs 4600lbs, that's almost 1000lbs more than a comparable brand. That's allot of steel missing from the competitions machine. The frame on this thing looked to be a full 1" or more steel plate. If I was to have a worry it would be with transmission, they are hard to diagnos in any brand and hard to repair if you do have a problem, but I am not to worried. This means this tractor should be compare to a Kubota M4060 at nearly 10K more. So with all the extra's you have to pay extra for and all that torque in a full 3.3L engine a real heavy duty model for 10K less for the deal and throw in mower and box it's a no brainer. I'll put up some pictures on delivery day, going onto a 55 acre property with tillable soil in Gatesville, Tx. It's my sons place and I have the job of getting this going while he flies Apache's in Iraq.
