Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

I also found that site, but would like to know if any of our more than 15,000+ members has one of these units. It looks interesting, but I would want more information than just what a web site is touting as its benefits. I have seen a lot of snake oil sold on the internet.... just want to make sure that this isn't one of the snake oil sites...

Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

I've got a UV lamp in the trunk duct. Cost a little over $100+ an extra electrical box to plug it into. Really seemed to help with the "freshness" of the house.

I dunno about all the other hoo hah they're talking about.

I have had one installed for sometime now. Easy to install, took about 15 minutes.

Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

Seems like one of the "catches" is replacement of the RCI cell every 3 years and the Do not throw the old one in the garbage, return it to them postage prepaid. So, what's in the RCI cell besides a UV lamp and maintenance cost?

Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

The RCI replacement is around $100 I think (or about $0.10 per day). Not a bad price for getting clean air and keeping duct work clean and mold free. The old RCI gets thrown in the garbage unless they (ecoquest) pays for it. If they don’t, into my trash bin it goes.

What is in it is stuff that a UV can’t do:
• Low Level O3 Production: 0.04 ppm max(no UV does that)
• Hydro-peroxides distribution: (no UV does that)
• Super Oxide Ion distribution: (no UV does that)
• Ion distribution: (no UV does that)
• RCI kills mold etc better then the standard UV light.

It is better then any cheap “ion breeze” out there. I personally like there Freshair the best but that is me.

Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

Cost was around $300 I think and my "old man" sells the ecoquest stuff since retired.

Re: Question about \"DuctwoRx\"

Sorry, I don't have any experience with it, but out of curiousity I checked the website. MY BS detector pinned and I don't think it'll zero any more.

What, exactly are 'safe oxidizers' and 'super oxide ions' and why are they supposed to be good for me? I guess because I don't have an air conditioner I'm not as worried about this sort of stuff, but it reads like snake oil to me.

I thought H2O2 is corrosive as all get out? Actually, I doubt they make a vapour of hydrogen peroixed, most likely thye make a microscopic amount of ozone, which forms H2O2. Won't it eat through the aluminum?

Mr. Skeptic here says show me a credible, third party lab report that proves the claims. Actually, rereading the site, they don't actually claim it does anything ....
