question about detent setting to flote bucket

I just realized that my DK45 bucket isnt engaging into float position. I can manually hold the lever down and it will float. but wont lock.

Ill have to crack open the workshop manual i guess. I assume theres a ball bearing somewhere that locks it in place.

Anyone ever run into this before?

Likely the ball inside is damaged. They sell a kit to replace it. Not too expensive and not all that hard to change. do a search on here. There are threads on it.
