Purging New Water Heater Of Air

Sorry. I don't quite understand.

I know water, heat and lime don't go well with seldom used valves.

I would still like to know from someone that has ripped apart one of these tanks if the cold water inlet tube has a hole or holes in the side of it.

I do both. When the tank valve shows full I close it and all my hot water faucets stay open untill they are completely purged.
