I’m the one who started this thread so guess I should jump in and offer my two cents. First of all, thanks everyone for your interest and effort in responding to my initial question. Sounds like it is a lot more complicated to set-up an on-line resource for purchasing parts than I ever imagined. I appreciate the insight of Neil Messick.

Personally, having the capability to purchase parts for my tractor on-line is a real convenience. The nearest dealership is about an 80 mile round trip and I would have to take off work to get there during business hours. If you consider time and mileage (particularly at today’s fuel prices) purchasing parts on-line would be a very attractive option. I’m not looking for a parts warehouse per se’, moreover, a resource for “everyday” OEM maintenance items such as filters, hoses, etc.

I think a resource of sorts would benefit many and hopefully one will be available in the not-to-distant future.

I use several sources for parts. I order things from a dealer in New Holland Pa. and have things the next day, I also order from my dealer about 70 miles away and it takes a week give or take. I have all the manuals and give them the parts number so they don't have to look it up. I have never received the wrong part from either dealer.
Like someone else said with gas prices this is an eaiser method. The simple solution is to just call your dealer or any dealer for that matter, I'm sure they can all ship parts.

Beefarmer...
Any chance you've used the Gater blades yet?? I'm very interested in buying a set, but would like to hear from some 'real world' users first.

Any comments?

Thanks

Used them a lot so far and can tell you a couple of things... it draws more power when in wet grass. Picks up small pebbles or gravel when going by my driveway. Maybe it's me.. but they sound louder.. All in all really mulches up the grass.

Thanks for the positive note. I hope the Gater blades mulch better than the OEM ones do. Looks like I'm ready to order them now.

What about the sucking up small pebbles or gravel...is it an issue? My existing OEM blades will suck up small pebbles if i go over the blacktop in front of the garage. However, I have 3/4" crushed stone for a top coat on the rest of my 600' driveway. Will it draw something that big up? Hope not...

Don't think it will suck that up.. I have basically 8's I think they are called. One size larger than screenings.
