This is a very important point. Unlike the bagger for the 2230, the 2350 bagger does not use the 3 pt links. In fact, special brackets need to be bolted to the frame of the tractor (included with the bagger). The bagger then hangs on these brackets. The unit is heavy (200 lbs) and very difficult to maneuver into position and onto the brackets. There are very few similarities between the two bagging units, except for maybe the bags themselves. The 2350 unit is belt-driven compared to the 2230 unit which is shaft-driven.

I look at the 2350 bagger as a decent solution if you plan to keep it on there permanently. My recommendation would be to get the dealer to demonstrate how the bagger is installed and removed, then make your decision.

Hmm, Then would the better option be to try to order a 2230 bagger unit? From what you just said that might be a no brainer, as long as it would work. I would much prefer a shaft drive over a belt too. So what did they improve over the older model? maybe they did it this way to get the bagger closer to the tractor so if it does get too heavy it wont lift the front?

I purchased my tractor from S&L Equipment in Belvidere. Their price was a little better or the same that I had quoted from 2 other dealers ($15800 +1800 for MMM Fine Cut w/mulch kit). One of the main reasons I went with them though is that they are less than 5 miles from my house. Their service dept is excellent, however, I was not too impressed with the sales dept. But, once you buy it, you really never deal with the sales guys again.

Before I decided to go without a bagging unit at all, I was going to try my friend's 2230 unit on my 2350. I'm not sure if it would work, or if any of those are still available new. From what I can see, there wasn't any major improvement, rather quite the opposite. It seems Kubota tried to fix the mounting difficulties people have with the 2230 units, but those issues seem minor compared to what it takes to deal with the newer unit -- especially since so many TBN folks are now able to get their 2230 baggers on quite quickly with the help of some spacers, etc.

Ok i just got off the phone with Emrich sales about the rear bagger for the BX24. He said that he has to add 4 bushings to make the bagger work. He also said there is no belt, runs right off the pto. I asked if the 2320 bagger was availible and is not. So seems like there is a lot of different perceptions here.

I would recommend the
60" - much easier to maneuver around obstacles as well as less passes with the additional width. Self leveling doesn't hurt either...

Only consideration is where you store the tractor and trailering it with the additional deck width - I recall a post that stated 54" allows you to use a 5' wide trailer...food for thought...
You can also mow closer to ditches and banks with it than you can with a 54''.

I am also in NJ (Warren County) and have had my BX24 for around 1 month now. I went with the 54" fine cut deck as I did not like how far the 60" stuck out past the wheels. Even at only 3 more inches, it was a lot to step over getting on and off the tractor. Also I have one opening in my fence that I would have had to modify to get a 60" deck through.

What are your plans for the bagger? The fine cut deck mulches pretty well, and I just added the actual "mulching kit" which should make the grass really fine. The first few years in our house, we bagged the leaves with the old murray lawn tractor. Last year (before the murray seized) I just mulched the leaves and it was much better than bagging. With the BX24, I am figuring at least 2X better performance, so I did not even consider a bagger. If I do find I need one I will go with either a cyclone rake or a DR directly connected to the tractor so it turns with you, not a tow behind.

I also mow around many trees and really love how the BX handles!

ODD : I haven't seen a Mid Mount Mower that sticks out far enough past the wheels yet.
The less the mower sticks out the more you get to use the weed eater.

I'm with LBrown59 here - when I opted for the 60" when I got it home I thought "Why did I get such a big mower"... then after mowing and starting to marvel at how perfectly the radius the tractor turns is matched to the curve of the mower - the magic of the 60" got me... The overhang could not be lived without now... OMHO.

Mustangous,

A quick question please that is a tad off topic:

What year is your Cub Cadet 70? Great little tractor! I had a 1965 CC 70 that I used for roughly 30 years before I got my B7610.

Regards,
Duber

Thanks for everyones responce, I am gonna go with the 60" mover, and oem bagger. Seems like the best route for what i need it for. I really like the fact that running off the pto and i think if i need more baddage i could design something like the trac vac for a lot less using the oem bagger. I probably wont even need anything more for leaves after this year anyway. At least i hope, so i will just try this for now.

Thanks again...
