Hi there,

New to the forum, but not new to Fords. This is my first tractor, but I love Diesel and love torquing on engines. I have just acquired a 1710 and have purchased the shop manual for it. While the manual has everything in terms of exploded diagrams, I cannot find a service schedule for this engine.

Its in great shape, forget the hours but it has been tuned regularly by the previous owner (so he claims). I don't want to pay shop prices.

Anybody have a good service schedule for the 1710 out there?

Thanks for the help

Every 100 hours: Change Engine oil and filter. Clean fuel filter, air filter. 200 hours: Change fuel filter. 300 hours: Change all axle and transmission fluids, and hydraulic filter. 600 hours: adjust valve clearance and clean/adjust fuel injectors. Info is in Oprators manual. Watch Ebay for them or New Holland web site/ manuals.

Yes, see if you can find the owners/operating manual. I use the heck out of mine. It explains all the maintainence items nicely. There are a few other things to check such as clutch and brake free play, etc. I have done all the maintaining on my 1710 and it has been an easy job. If I can give you once piece of advice. Don't risk it running out of fuel. It can be a bear to bleed the air out. Not really that bad but time consuming and of course it happens where you don't want to be (like just pulling out onto a busy road). Anyway keep the fuel topped off. Ken
