Did we ever get the barrel/bucket volume test?

Have not done a volume test with a bucket/barrel, yet. It's coming. I've promised myself (and my wife) that I get all the projects that have been started off the list before making new ones. Vacation time too. Anyway. I've been running time tests as well. Non raining/wet times (theoretical) have been between 11k and 16k gal per day. Like I stated before, this is really next years project so I intend to take data before making a decision on what to do and how to do it. I will post the spreadsheet numbers when I get more data (and will show the calcs). Also, theoretical shows 140 or so gallons pumped every cycle, so I'll need more than a barrel or I'll need to be sure to be ready for overflow. I've been on the lookout for 4-5ft section of culvert to do a shallow well test. This would be to see if I can prevent water from reaching the house (which I never will entirely due to ground water). It may all be ground water. I will report back for sure.

'Theoretical' or 'time tests (however you're doing them) are not the same as a simple bucket test. If the volume is as high as you say it is, a 5 gallon bucket should fill in less than a minute and a 55 gallon barrel in just a few minutes.

For all we know, the pump or pipes could be partially plugged and only passing a small portion of the water they're rated for. That would make the pump run a lot longer skewing your time tests.

Diggin it. Fully agree. We will see when I get to that what theoretical vs. reality is. With that said, 100% confident pipe has no restriction and is purged and full of air with every cycle. K values, I have not ran. I will do that to.
