Pulling a Lime Spreader with 2210 D

Guys - The Coop nolonger will spread lime - However, they will rent a buggy/spreader to me. The spreader holds 4 Ton of lime and the spreader weighs about 3,000 pounds - And it has pretty large tires. Will a Yanmar 2210D pull that over sand? The terrain is perfectly Flat - I have a loader/bucket I can fill with sand for front end weight. But obviously the buggy is outweighing the tractor by quite a bit.

I can pull it my Ford F-250 but the pickup needs a country mile to turn around in.

Well, Didn't get a chance to try it yet - Accuweather said no rain til 3 pm - They Lied. I did get a look at the buggy though and the tires are pretty large.

My wife and I rented the Lime Spreader (from Washington County Co-op) and towed it with our F-250 Diesel. We did not have a tractor at the time so, we used her truck. The spreader did a good job of reaching the the parts where turning around was a problem.

Next time, we will test with our John Deere 790 (Green Yanmar). It is 27hp.

Won't anytime soon as our pastures are still soaked from that last rain.

IKY - Thanks for the info - I did end up using my pickup to do the job - And I did hit a couple wet spots where the wagon sunk - I was glad I was using the pickup at that time instead of the tractor - I wouldn't recommend the tractor for the job - especially if you have areas where trees have been removed as the ground may be soft in those areas.
