I have a 44" kunz rough cutter with the 23hp briggs and that thing is a tank, if a quad can pull it over it its going to get cut. on flat ground i used to pull it with a 250 big red and now with 500 foreman on a steep sideslope its a hard pull on the quad. the blades are probably about 1/2" thick on it.

But those blades are not the swing type, correct?

No, they're like a giant lawn mower blade. They work very well in my opinion there isn't much they don't cut. I've hit rocks with them and they take it well on rare occasions it will disengage the clutch or throw the belt. I love mine. I'm in south east manitoba all there is is rocks out here.

Here is a better picture of the front towing setup. You can also flip the tow bar and it gives you a little more offset but it is hard on the hitch. I tow it centered now and just drive the tractor right over the top of the brush. With the quad and garden tractor I couldn't do that. She is eating alfalfa hay, she is my helper...

This outfit will be wrecked in a heartbeat cutting anything but grass on level ground. Have experienced such a machine and one season of use clearing trails will lead to something bigger, heavier for next season.

I had a Swisher 44 rough cut bought used. I sold it a couple years later. It tended to knock the brush over and would bog down. I also had a Yamaha 700 Grizzly and it was hard to keep towing at a steady pace with a thumb throttle. You can't make tight turns with them. One thing it excelled at was tippy terrain where I wouldn't take a tractor.
