I have a 1997 B-21 TLB. While using my rear mounted snowblower for the first time the winter, I engaged the PTO after not being used for quite some time, as I do not use it that often. At first it did not want to engage, that is, the lever did not want to move at all. Finally the lever engaged the PTO. It seemed to work fine throughout that day until my last attempt to disengage. The lever would not budge regarless how I tried.( clutch in always, gear lever in neurtal, different RPM settings ) I had to bypass the PTO safety switch in order start the engine. The PTO is still engaged. Hoping for an easy solution/fix. Maybe clutch or lever adjustment? Most likely a more serious issue that will require a dealer. Thanx to anyone who might extend some solid advise or experiance for my problem. Tinman236

I would look to adjusting the clutch and or looking at the pto engagement linkage to make sure that the rods are lubricated and free to move. Fluid level OK?

Likely something simple. The B21 has a single-stage clutch so if tractor motion is normal it's probably not a clutch issue. There are a couple rotating pivots in the external pto linkage on that model that could be rusted, dry and stiff. Maybe get a can of PB Blaster penetrant and work the linkage back and forth, freeing up the pivots. Inside the transmission the pto gear selector fork runs in oil so the problem is less likely to be in there. As always, prompt cheerful refund if idea is bogus. Good luck, Dick B

rbargeron--Thanx for your ideas. I, too, am hoping for a simple solution as this is really the only mechanical issue I have ever had with this tractor. It pays to buy orange. Regards-Tinman236
