Tiller PTO Tiller Price Increase

Anyone understand the sudden dramatic price increase in PTO tillers? The CCM MR-160 recently went from $1600 to $1950 and the KingKutter 60" at TSC (web price) went from $1400 to $1700.

Just when I was about buy one.

Could it be the dealers are pricing for increased demand? Lots more folks will be looking at putting in gardens this year. Fuel prices have come way down, so steel should also come down or at least not rise (?)

I wonder if it could be due to a weaker US dollar. Most tillers are built in Europe or Asia and the dollar has weakened from 2007 to 2008. Just a thought. Dan

Checked the Euro lately? It's fallen quite a bit. Our dollar is actually rising right now.

If TBN members are interested we will honor the old 2008 prices but the supply is limited. When the 2008 models are sold out this will be the prices.
Tillers are often ordered 9 months in advance. The old 2008 prices were based on 2007 steel and US$ exchange rates.
