I would agree that as long as the 2 shaft halves slide freely, and there are no cracks just scratches, it should be fine.

Well mine made it today and I thought I would share a picture of my PTO shaft clearance with you. Keep in mind it is hooked to the quick hitch which makes the angles worse. Also this is without a PTO extension. Most likely I will not be able to use the quick hitch with this mower.

Got new PTO shaft and extender.
Everything works perfectly.Very good mower.

I recently bought a Pheonix mower of same design. Think they and one other company I looked at do not recommend using a quick hitch with the mower. Think one reason is the weight the weight shifts. When mine is shifted all the way to either side you can hit a tapping noise knowing the universal joints it too sharp of an angle.

As to the mower dropping to fast, mine came with an adjustable restrictor valve in the line. Not sure but sitting in house believe on the return line. Have it almost totally closed. Hope you two enjoy yours as much as have mine. Grandson has put about 50 hours on it in a month of owning it.

After spending about 4 hours with the flail I agree we need to slow things down. One of my remotes is detent and trying to feather is almost impossible. It will just jump to full open. I use this spool on the side shift. The other one I can feather pretty well. It is normal spring to center.

Because they used banjo fittings on the cylinders, I am going to source a orifice to fit at the disconnects. When I find what we need I will update you.

I agree also it is a nice mower.

That is what I used on the valve for my Kioti. It only restricts one way. If you use that it will slow movement in one direction but you will have full flow in the other direction. I need to slow both directions that is why I am going with the restricter orifice.
