But, unless you have a death wish, you don't want to use it with a PHD and probably not with any other ground engaging attachment.
MadDog,
I don't see the connection. My
B2910 doesn't have a seat switch. As a matter of fact, if the PTO is offl and the HST pedal is centered, the only interlock I can think of is the clutch pedal, which must be depressed to start the engine.
After that...while I would never do it, I could get off the tractor with the PHD turning and the engine would happily keep it turning.
I guess what I am trying to say is that common sense and good operating practices are the key to keeping one safe...
Frankly, I can see me, if I had some kind of seat interlock that required a quick move from the down to up postion to keep the tractor running, jumping off the tractor in a hurry to get that seat up before the tractor engine quit running...and getting hurt in the process.
Do these tractors with seat interlocks have some kind of time delay built in, that gives the operator ample time to get off the tractor at his normal speed, before tipping the seat up?
I wonder why these tractor builders don't offer a tilt switch that would trip if the tractor tops over, cutting off the fuel? The
Surplus center offered one, that required manual reset if turned sideways...I even wonder if the seat interlock would do anything if the tractor went on its side with the operator belted in...
Gee...I'm full (or is that fool /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif ) of questions today! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
