I, too, had your same deep desires to blow the leaves away! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I had the oppoertunity to purchase a PTO leaf blower on eBay for a song. It was a front mount type, but I invested a little money at a local fab shot, and converted it to a rear mount unit. I had 3 pt. hitch pins added, repaced the belt drive to a gear drive assemble (had to reverse the blower blades since the front PTO goes in the opposite direction /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif). I added a chain to the top of the unit to act as my Top Link. This allows the unit to kick up, but be picked up when needed. The unit has a single pivoting wheel that now is a "tail dragger" type unit. All works well.
I just finished blowing my 5 acres of leaves, and I have to tell you that blowing leaves is just like pushing snow; when the leaves are just so high, there is no place to blow them. I did get them all around the perimeter of the property, but it took most of the day (10:00 AM until 4:00 AM) But now that I am warm and dry, I guess it didn't take all that long, considering I could have done it by hand. I now have the unit off of the tractor and in storage for the winter. If I had it to do again, I think I would invest in the large vacuum. I'm sure they have their issues; but you know, the grass is always greener! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Good Luck.
