Welcome to TBN and also to the "GC group".I have a 2009 GC2610 and the PTO quit working while roto-tilling. The spindle can be turned by hand when the clutch is not engaged. However, the engine dies when I try to engage the PTO. Any thoughts?
that is my suspicion.Update, the engine dies when the PTO clutch is simply engaged and when both PTO selectors, rear & mid, are in the neutral position. Does this seem more like an electrical/safety switch issue?
I would think seat switch itself is ok as unit does start. but a jumper can bypass it and fully rule out for testing rest. The safety start relay (5) is located on the RH side of the
steering column. The safety relay will not let the engine
start if the PTO is engaged or the range lever is in gear.
The safety relay will also shut the engine OFF if the PTO
is engaged or the range lever is engaged and the
operator is not sitting in the seat.
