PTO hydraulic leak

I just went out to use my Century 3647 and noticed that the 3 point hitch wouldn't lift.
After some poking around I realized that there had been a slow leak from around the pto area and the hydraulic level was way down.
I refilled it and all was fine, but now I've obviously got to find the leak and correct it.
Has anyone ever encountered a similar problem, and if so, how much work was involved in repairing it?
I'm hoping it'll just be a seal or gasket, but I'm not sure if i should tackle this myself or take it to the dealership (about 30 miles away).

Any tips or advice would be appreciated as always,

well before u jump the gun. u should clean the area of the leak and find where the problem is and how severe.seals do leak ,how much is the question.if it is just a drip a hour can u live with it.if it is a trickle u have to fix.if something is cracked u may have a costly repair.

I thought I had a PTO seal leak back there. It turned out to be a loose vent cap. Fortunately, I lost just enough fluid to make a mess, but no other problems.

On mine, that curved thingy is the vent.

Do you mean you actually had hydraulic fluid leaking from around that rubber plug?

I don't think that's where it's coming from, but I'll check.

I'll be out there today, wiping everything down and trying to see where it might be coming from.
It's very slow, but annoying.
