PTO Generator - What\'s it worth?

I bought a 15kw PTO generator about 3 years ago. Have only used it about 5 hours. And now we have a solar electric system w/battery backup so the generator is not needed any more. I paid about $1400 for it but the current price is $1900.

It really depends on the market where you live at, where I live at you could probably get away with $900-1000 if it was in good shape and in working order.

Like GA said, it's market based. If there's very few in your area that have tractors to run it, it would be hard to sell. If you're in a farming area where many have tractors, you may do better.

Have you checked e-bay or other places to see what similar generators are going for?

Rich, that is a nice unit, and it is indeed market based. I have looked at the one Nothern Tools sells for $999.00 on sale. but yours comes with the shaft and 3PH carrier right?

I'm thinking in the $1,200 to $1,500 range is a fair. Shipping will be a pain, so try to offer it for local pickup only.

Thanks for your offer to take care of the genny for me! And yes, the genny comes with a PTO shaft and 3 pt carrier. A very nice unit indeed.

Maybe try ebay to sell it---bigger audience
of course buyer would be responsible for shipping cost.
I've sold a number of larger items to more or less locals this way. They will see your location listed, so they choose to buy or not. Don't accept checks. Ever.
