PTO does not engage

howdy from Hawaii
a while ago I was mowing with my Yanmar 1510 and there was a "ping" then the PTO stopped. There is no grinding sound when I engage the lever now. I am hoping that there is a pin or something inside the transmission attached to PTo lever. If anyone has advice to my problem or maybe the steps to open up the transmission to see whats up it would be greatly appreciated!

It's pretty obvious what you need to do. Get yourself a wrench and start removing bolts in the vicinity of the pto and get in there and see what the problem is.
