The auger is something that I will be using very infrequently. The only reason I got it is because my dad found it at the cemetery and threw it in with the deal on a scraper blade I was buying from him. I used it as is to dig about 8 holes for a dog kennel. It was a pain to have to walk behind the tractor and re-attach the PTO when it fell off, but not unbearable for 8 holes.

I'm planning on using it to dig some holes for small trees this spring and have tentative plans for some fencing around a chicken coop next spring.

Other than that, it will probably sit in my barn. After I get my use out of it, I think I'll try to trade it on a chipper or tiller.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I tapped the holes on Friday and had great success digging 8 tree holes today. Thanks for the great advice!

Glad it worked out for you, kep an eye on them from time to time just to make sure no problems are occouring. IMHO.. you'll get many many hours of trouble free service out of it..
