Pto Clutch

I have a Montana 5720C and will be running a JD 346 square baler, and a JD1209 cutter. I am concerned about the pto on the tractor. It seems it is either on or off with no "feathering" to engage slowly. I do not think an over running clutch would help this problem. Any suggestions for slowly engaging the PTO on this tractor? Also I have done some research on the filters for the tractor. If anyone needs a list of the WIX filter numbers for the tractor let me know.
