PTO & Clutch issues, Help

had the same problem this spring with mine, got on it and started right up, engaged the clutch it would die, by passed the saftey switch, it was fine, then went to engage the pto and it would die again, i was stumped after that, searched my owners manual in the exploded view of the electrical system and found a relay, unpluged it and pried it open, it was full of rust. so i replaced it with a new one now everything is good. mine had been acting up a lil last year, sometimes the deck would'nt engage right away, guess that was the problem. go to sears website, you can find your part on there and its delivered to your door.

Finally fixed. It was the operator presence relay. I guess water must have gotten into the relay when I washed the tractor and fried it.
So after replacing the ignition, PTO, clutch and seat switches, it figures it would be the last component.
However the cost wasnt too bad, less than $50 and the unit is back in business.

I had my switch melt on mine.there was a short in the PTO and it made the switch realy hot and then the button just popped out on my lap..I replaced the PTO and Switch and its never done it again:thumbsup:
