Does anyone have any experienced advice on attaching the Mixer 80 to the 3PH. I will be putting it on the back of my NH TC48DA. I have read some instructions about possibly having to shorten the PTO shaft, and was wondering if anyone has had to do this. Also the lifting cylinder?, does it allow the drum to be dumped fairly well? And does it retract back up to position the drum well for mixing. After retraction, is their any chrome rod left. The included cylinder is a 1.75", 14" travel cylinder, but only a one way lift cylinder. I'm thinking of getting a 2 way hydraulic cylinder, as recommended by others. Thanks.....IH3444 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

When I attached the mixer 80 to my DK35 I had to cut off three inches of the PTO shaft. As for the lift/dump cylinder it fully dumps the concrete and pulls the drum up for mixing with no chrome left showing on the shaft. I can mix eleven eighty pound sacks of quick crete at a time.

I have had the Mixer80 for about 7 yrs. Yes, you have to shorten the shaft, for sure.

This Italian-made unit is poorly built, in some ways. The
toplink is only single-acting, which is terrible. I converted
mine to double acting. Not hard, but the fittings are some
bizarre thread that my supplier could not match. I welded
on new JIC nipples.

Finally, it is easy to bend the cyl rod because it can interfere
with one of the toplink holes at full dump. I bent my rod twice
but I was able to dissamble it and straighten it.

Finally, I wish the gearing was lower. It runs too fast at
idle speed for some mixes.

I used this on a Kubota L2550DT and a Kioti CK30H.

Once I ironed out the problems, I have mixed 100s of
cy in it. Indispensible attachment!!!!

On the Cement mixer , where do you connect the hydr- line?. do you need a control valve raise and lower the barrel? On a chinese compact do you think I will have to shorten the PTO
shaft?...Scott

Yes, you need a remote valve to operate the dump
cyl. A valve for a double-acting cyl will work with your
SA cyl OK. The PTO shaft is deliberately sent too long, I am
sure, so it will work with any tractor. Cutting it is easy,
but don't cut it too short!

As for your tractor, my opinion is that the only compact
tractors you will have a problem with are the short ones.
B and BX series from Kubota are short, so are the X55
series from JD. These tractors are not tall enough to
allow you to adequately dump. If you rear wheels are
at least 24s for AG or 19.5 IND, you should be OK.
