👍 Absent bad fuel pumps or filters, I still have a slight lean towards winter fuel versus summer fuel. Is that possible? Otherwise, I would consider some insulation for the fuel line against vapor lock.

Nice octopus! Is there a story?

All the best,

Morning!

So I mowed yesterday and the machine did not stall or even sputter one bit. Two things that were different this time, it was about 20 degrees (Fahrenheit) cooler out and I really minimized lifting the mower deck out of the float function while the PTO was running. Not sure if either of those two things really matter but I thought I'd at least mention them. The winter/summer fuel thing is not possible and the ethanol free gasoline I use is usually quite new as it doesn't sit around long. The leak I thought that was coming from the valve assembly was also not present on the toe of my boot. 🤷‍♂️

I'll report back on future stalling with exact details as to when it occurs. My plan for the valve assembly is to give it a second thorough wipe down and make sure all the fittings are tight. I've been checking the hydraulic oil tank and there does not seem to be a massive leak that I'm unaware of.

As for the octopus, I just think octopuses are super cool creatures who are adaptable and resilient. Kinda like a PowerTrac. They're amazing to watch in action underwater.

🐙 +1 on octopi! I used to clean aquarium windows (long story) and my wife would wander the exhibits before the crowds came in. She got to be "friends" with a large pacific octopus who would pop out of its hole to come hang on the glass to watch her. As you say, they are fascinating creatures.

My bet is that you are having vapor lock, given the cooler weather making a difference. There are long threads about it and the 425 here. Get some fireproof insulation and cover your fuel line and the PT should be happier.

All the best,

Peter

The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery is a good read if you haven't yet. My Ocotpus Teacher was also a neat movie to watch. Window cleaning at the aquarium must have been cool.

I'll look into the vapor lock threads. Thanks for all the help everyone.
