I have an area I am trying to clear of bullbrier, I'd like to get the viburnum/arrow-wood, holly, and high bush blueberry that were being smothered by the bullbrier to grow in thicker. Do any of you know how they will respond to pruning?

Blueberry needs to have the old heavy wood pruned out if you want to maintain berry production. I have tried to get rid of arrow-wood for a bunch of years and if I bush hob it down it just keeps coming up. You have to treat the cut stumps with roundup.I have no experience with holly.

Thanks for the reply. I actually want to encourage growth on all these shrubs, to provide screening between the neighbor's house and part of my yard. The bull brier smothered all the low growth, and once I cleaned it out the family complains there isn't enough screening.

Blueberrys love to be pruned, they can be quite thick. I grow several varietys in my yard. Jy.
