Well I needed a pair of male quick couplers for the rear 3rd valve connection on my 4720 Deere. I go to Parts and ask for males to match up accordingly and don't pay any attention-until i install them, hook up hose and one of them won't lock on.View attachment Hydraulic couplers.pdf

All the couplers on the machine and 400Xloader are the ISO 7241-1 600 series with the flared point on the end of the mail. I look and the ones theygave me have the "halfball" (ISO 5675 ) on the ends. Ihave tried to attach a download of a size chart-not sure if it will fly.

Can these type couplers be "mixed? I managed to lock on with a bit of a "hit" but that in my mind shouldnot be the norm

Yes, they can be interchanged.
Did you move your remote levers back and forth with the engine off to relieve any pressure on the tractor side? If there is built up pressure, they will NOT connect.

thx
For sure on the relieving pressure. Like I said, I had to drive the outer collar on to get it to lock.

Balls and poppets can be mixed, but it's generally not recommended. We have them (the poppets ones you need) in stock if we can help.

I was wondering the difference between the ball and the pointed Pioneer and was told that the pointed worked better in engaging when there is slight pressure on the line.......slight pressure. I too was told and have interchanged them and they work ok for me. Regardless of what I'm trying to hookup, if I don't shut her down and bleed the valves like "ac" mentioned.

If it's on your rear remote there may be a small tee handle on the top of the valve. Open that and they should work easily. At least that's what I found on my 3720. I tried to disconnect my rear hyd and the collar was locked tight. Loosen the handle and they free right up
