Still working on my '78 B7100DT.

The B219 FEL seems to work fine, but I am going to do a fluid change just to be safe.

The manual says to use 10W30 MS engine oil or Type F Transmission Fluid. It appears to have engine oil now (weight unknown).

Which fluid is considered best and why?

If your tractor take UTF I would just use it in there also. You could use automatic transmission fluid but it will cost more than your average run of the mill UTF oil. The UTF oil should also offer a little better anti-foam additive package than engine oil will for this hydraulic application.

Now, I'm even more confused! The B219 FEL is self contained and the official Kubota Manual says to use 10W30 motor oil or Type F tranny fluid.

The official Kubota Manual on the B7100DT gear driven tractor says to use 80wt gear oil in the tranny and rear lift.

I did a search on this site for "UTF" and it looks like all the suggestions are to use the "UTF" in all 3 systems.

That doesn't seem right. Can one oil replace both 10W30 and 80wt gear oil?

Are you confusing the gear driven tractor with the HST?

I use the Sam's club generic UTF in the 219 loader and my 670 backhoe. I believe it is equivalent to about 10w20. I left my gear tranny and front axle with gear oil.
