I recently purchased a Ford Tractor from a auction. After researching the model # (b1123c) and serial number (c331057), I concluded this to be a 1972 Ford 2000, LCG, Live 540 PTO, 8 speed (if I am wrong let me know). However, the model number indicates gas tractor but this one has a propane driven engine. Is this tractor I bought a completely modified tractor (gas to propane), or partially modified (original propane to modern propane tank), or is there a problem with my ID plate? Also it was painted yellow like it was Industrial? Is this correct? Picture of tractor and ID plate are attached.

11*2* designates gas.

looks like someone got handy ahd chopped the dash and top panel out.

propane versions were available. perhaps they used that machine as a shop tender and converted it?

not uncommon to see mix n match fords.

I have 2-3 rowcrops that are on gas now that started life on LP

Thank you so much. I figured as much but wanted to be sure.

while i've not seen a 3 cyl propane.. I have seen plenty of 4 cyl jobs.. though the 3 cyl model id specs call out a possibility of it. I simply can't imagine a factor job was to chop out the dash cluster.. :)
