proof meter for a 1949 8n ford?

hi to everyone ,

i own a 1949 ford 8n( front distributor), wich i would like to upgrade with a proof meter, i also own a 1950 8n(side distributor) for parts,with a brand new proofmeter ,
my question is simple , is it possible to put the proof meter of the 1950 8n to the 1949?

i know that the governor casing isnt the same,the 1950 has a threaded hole to fit the proofmeter cable, but none on the 1949,
can i swap the casing to the 1949 and then install the proof meter?,
is the governor the same, or is it possible to take the governor from one and put it in the other tractor?.

Or if impossible , do i have an option to install a proofmeter on the 49 8n?
