Looking at a used, 10 year old Pronovost 503 off-road dumping trailer for use hauling firewood. Does anyone have any experience with this trailer, or this brand? It seems like a very solid piece of equipment, but the price used is the same as a new 7x12 on-road trailer from tractor supply (which granted does not dump). Anyone have an idea of value for something like this? Seller says it was $3500 new. Am I better off just getting an old army trailer off the CL?

They are very nice units. Well made. I was in the market, but now think Ill build my own.

Cost wise, I think he was a bit high at $3500. Last quote I had was $2500+tax. About the same (maybe slightly more) than the King Kutter XB.

What is the condition and what is his used price? A VERY well used one sold for about $1200 at the last auction I was at. It was used by a grounds maintenance crew and had hauled salt for spreading on walkways. It had rust perforations in the corners too. I only bid up to about $750 and that was $250 too much in retrospect.

They are asking $1,500, which seems high if it is only $1000 off retail and it is 10+ years old. Seller is a nice guy & seems very honest, but don't want to overpay. It is in very good shape, with some cosmetic dings & scratches, but nothing really severe. Paint is faded some but the hydraulic cylinder looks fine & tires are good. I think I need to sleep on this one a bit before deciding.

The one I was bidding on was in very bad shape, cant express that enough. Rotten through. I would have has to make new sides at the least tires were 3/4 worn too and it still sold for $1200!

If you can get one that is in very good shape for $1200 ish it would be a good deal.
